LinkedIn engagement rate calculator.
Enter your reactions, comments, and reposts to get your engagement rate — by impressions or by followers — and see instantly whether it’s below average, average, good, or excellent against LinkedIn norms.
The truer measure — engagements ÷ the number of people who actually saw the post. Use the impressions from your post analytics.
Above the norm. Posts like this earn extra distribution — do more of whatever this was.
How it’s calculated
Engagement rate = (reactions + comments + reposts) ÷ impressions × 100. Engagement rate by impressions is the more accurate figure because it measures the people who actually saw the post; by followers is a rougher proxy used when impressions aren’t available. Benchmarks are typical LinkedIn ranges and vary by niche, audience size, and post type.
One metric that predicts your reach.
Engagement rate is the clearest read on whether a post actually landed. It matters more than raw likes because it’s relative — 50 reactions on 1,000 impressions (5%) is a far stronger post than 200 reactions on 20,000 impressions (1%). And it compounds: LinkedIn’s algorithm shows high-engagement posts to more people, so the rate is both a scoreboard and a lever.
By impressions
The accurate measure — engagements against the people who actually saw the post. Use it whenever your analytics show impressions.
By followers
The fallback when you don’t have impressions. Rougher, since most followers never see a given post — but useful for tracking your own trend.
Benchmarked
Every result is scored against typical LinkedIn ranges, so you know at a glance whether a post over- or under-performed.
