9 best AuthoredUp alternatives in 2026, for writers who want more than an editor
AuthoredUp is a Chrome extension and web app that sits on top of LinkedIn’s own composer: rich-text formatting, a true-to-LinkedIn preview, snippets and hooks, scheduling, and the deepest post analytics in its cohort. It is $19.95/mo for one profile, or $16.63/mo billed annually, with a per-profile Business tier from three seats up. It is genuinely the best tool on this page at what it does, and plenty of people reading this should simply keep it.
One correction before the list, because we had this wrong here ourselves: AuthoredUp does write posts. “Coauthor: AI writing in your voice” ships on every plan, marked Beta, with v2 released in July 2026. The defensible line is narrower — the AI writing is in beta and is not the product’s centre of gravity. AuthoredUp is a writer’s formatting and analytics tool first, and the best one here at that.
So people look elsewhere for four reasons: they want stronger AI drafting, they want visuals, they want engagement and outbound handled, or they want it cheaper. Below are nine tools that answer those, with what each is genuinely best at and where it falls down. Every price here was read off the vendor’s own live site and verified in September 2026 — re-check before you buy, because they move. Each entry states what the tool is genuinely good at before what it is missing, because a roundup where every rival happens to lose is a sales page. Where a competitor is the better buy for a particular reader, it says so.
1. Linkvsta — the done-for-you engine
Linkvsta is ours, and it is the opposite trade from AuthoredUp: instead of making the post you write better, it writes the post. It learns your voice and brand once at onboarding, then drafts text posts, carousels and single images on your own template, comments and connects from your account on a dedicated IP that is not shared with another customer, and scores the people who engage you as leads. Basic $79/mo, Growth $129/mo, Pro $199/mo — flat pricing you can read before you buy, not an agency retainer.
Be clear about the trade: if honest post analytics are the whole job, AuthoredUp goes far deeper and costs a fifth as much. The composer is closer than it used to be — every finished post here has the styling toolbar, the desktop-and-mobile preview with the “…more” fold marked, and a readability score, at no extra cost. But Linkvsta only makes sense if the weekly production — ideas, drafts, visuals, commenting, follow-up — is the thing you actually want off your plate.

2. Supergrow — the strongest all-round writing platform
Supergrow is the alternative most AuthoredUp users will actually enjoy. Starter is $19/mo, Pro $39/mo and Teams $139/mo for four seats. Pro adds the carousel and infographic generators, profile analytics, MCP, and Engage — a curated feed of only the people you add, with AI comment drafts you edit and send yourself. The vendor’s own line is that you are always the final filter: the AI writes the comment, a human presses the key.
Its analytics are lighter than AuthoredUp’s and locked to the Pro tier, so a switch made purely for data is a downgrade. One trap worth flagging: the LinkedIn product is supergrow.ai — supergrow.io is now an unrelated ads agency.

3. Taplio — the one that actually automates
Taplio is the only tool in this cohort besides Linkvsta that genuinely acts on your account. Its own plan-comparison table lists auto-comment on your posts, auto-like when replying, auto-reply to comments, comments on curated feeds, auto-DM to people engaging with your posts, and auto-connect. Starter $39/mo, Growth $69/mo, Pro $199/mo, or $32/$49/$149 billed annually. AI writing appears at Growth in the vendor’s own tier copy, and outreach automation only at Pro.
Taplio does not publish how its automation reaches LinkedIn, so we can tell you what it does and not what it costs you — treat any confident claim about that, from anyone, as unverified. And it offers unicode formatting rather than a rich editor with readability grading, so the thing you liked most about AuthoredUp is the thing Taplio is weakest at.

4. Postdrips — the cheapest like-for-like editor
Postdrips is the closest cheap substitute for AuthoredUp’s editor half: a post generator trained on high-performing posts, snippets, an exact preview, bold/italic/bullet formatting, and scheduling with an auto-queue. Starter is $18/mo and Pro $29/mo, which brings five accounts plus approval workflows — the best price-per-seat on this page for a small ghostwriting shop.
Its analytics are marked COMING SOON on the Pro tier — unshipped, not merely thin — so it replaces half of AuthoredUp and none of the half you probably renewed for. Its FAQ also states plainly that you cannot build carousels in it, and the seven-day trial rolls into the Pro plan unless you cancel.

If losing AuthoredUp’s dashboard is your whole objection and $19.95 is the budget, this is the straight swap.
It is a broad, shallow suite rather than a craft tool — no readability grading, no true-to-LinkedIn preview fidelity — and its React & Comment and Detect Leads features still need you to press the buttons yourself.

6. Contentdrips — the visuals specialist
Contentdrips is closer to a specialised Canva than to AuthoredUp: AI carousel generation from text, a blog post, a YouTube video or a CSV, brand kits, 500+ templates, GIF and MP4 export, and publishing to LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok. It is also the only tool on this page with a REST API for programmatic branded-carousel generation, which makes it the pick for a team embedding that capability in something else.
Two honest caveats. It replaces none of AuthoredUp — no analytics, no editor, no preview grading. And we could not pin its price: the live plan cards render $0 and the page carries three contradictory price sets, so treat “about $19/mo” as an estimate and read the current number yourself before paying.

7. Typefully — the cross-platform writer
Typefully is the nicest place to write on this list and the widest in reach — one editor and scheduler across X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon, with LinkedIn scheduling, first-comment scheduling and carousels all supported, plus API, Zapier, MCP and Claude/Notion/Slack integrations. There is a genuine free tier, and paid plans start around $12.50/mo billed annually — their pricing table renders client-side and their own catalogs disagree with each other, so verify the figure before you buy.
The thing to know before switching: Typefully’s analytics are X-only. The app gates the analytics view on a connected X account and the plan copy says “detailed X analytics”. If you came to this page because you like AuthoredUp’s numbers, this is not the tool.

8. Kleo — a coaching programme with software attached
Kleo 3.0 is $99/mo or $999/yr, and it is fair to judge it as a programme rather than a tool: unlimited AI post generation and 20 graphics a month, yes, but the real weight is the weekly live group coaching, the creator community, and the swipe and template libraries. At $99 that is a cheap programme, not expensive software — and the people behind it have large audiences of their own.
It is the wrong swap for an analytics user: the word does not appear on its pricing page at all. There is no multi-profile support yet and no free trial. Note too that Kleo is no longer the free viral-post-browsing extension people remember — the new extension is built for saving inspiration, not browsing it.

9. Typegrow — the zero-budget option
Typegrow covers a surprising amount for nothing: AI writing, scheduling, a carousel maker, a hook generator, a post preview, a text formatter, company-page posting, and a library of over a million posts for inspiration. Its own FAQ says it is completely free at the moment and that a paid plan is in the works — so it is free today, which is not the same as free forever.
Two flags worth five seconds of your time. There are no analytics anywhere on the site. And the footer still reads “© 2024” while the user counts on different pages contradict each other — the site is live and serving, but we could not confirm it is actively maintained, so check their changelog before building a workflow on it.

How do you choose an AuthoredUp alternative?
Start from the job you are trying to hand off, not the feature list. Three checks settle it for almost everyone.
Name the bottleneck first
People leave AuthoredUp for four different reasons and the right answer differs for each. If drafting is the bottleneck, Supergrow or Postdrips. If it is visuals, Contentdrips. If it is engagement and outbound, Taplio or Linkvsta. If it is budget, Typegrow or MagicPost. If it is none of those, you should probably stay put.
Check the analytics survive
This is where switchers get burned. Kleo, Contentdrips, Postdrips and Typegrow have no LinkedIn analytics at all, and Typefully’s cover X rather than LinkedIn. Only MagicPost, Supergrow and Taplio give you numbers, and none of the three match AuthoredUp on format effectiveness, word frequency and posting-time correlation.
Decide who does the work
Every tool above except Taplio and Linkvsta assumes you still sit down each week to produce. That is a real preference, not a flaw — plenty of people want to write. But if the honest answer is that you want the week handled, an editor upgrade will not fix it, and that single question splits this list into two halves.
Is Linkvsta an AuthoredUp alternative, or a different thing?
Honestly, a different thing — which is why it is the wrong answer for a lot of the people who land here. AuthoredUp improves the post you sit down to write. Linkvsta removes the sitting down: it learns your voice and brand once, then drafts the posts, renders the carousels and images on your own template, runs the commenting and connecting from your account, and hands you the people engaging you as scored leads. The two real differences from everything else on this page are the bundle and the address. Content, brand-true visuals, engagement, leads and competitor intel usually mean three or four subscriptions; here they are one.
